NCAGG at the Big Build 2024

This year, the NCAGG participated in The Big Build event hosted by the National Building Museum on October 19th, 2024, to bring awareness to the public about the Guild and a brief history of studio glass while sharing several examples of techniques and uses of glass as art. Most attendees were families with young children. Part of our educational display included a children’s activity table that was very popular. The crafts table was crowded almost the whole time. Many people asked about the Guild, and we provided handouts about glass industry resources and local classes.

Over 800 ‘puddle glass’ examples were made by our members for this event. They proved to be a very popular giveaway, too. Many thanks to our co-chairs, Shayna Heller and Inbal Katz, and to the planning committee and all our volunteers at The Big Build. A fun time was had by all. Be sure to join the fun and volunteer for the next NCAGG community event – The Sunflower Partnership Project. See our Instagram on this topic.
